 
Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia’s 2nd largest lake (40 miles long with 550 miles of shoreline) will enchant you with recreational opportunities. Bring your own boat, jet skis, sailboat or we will help you rent one and you can dock it at our pier. Anglers will be guided to fishing spots for pan fish or those Stripers that are caught in record sizes on the lake. Swim in our secluded cove from our dock or beach, in the cleanest lake in Virginia, or enjoy the hiking and beach at SML State Park.
Beautiful Smith Mountain Lake lies nestled in the magnificent Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. The lake was created by a hydroelectric dam built in the Smith Mountain gap in the early 60’s. The lake’s shoreline borders Bedford, Franklin and Pittsylvania counties.
Climate: Mild temperatures prevail year round with distinct seasons. The average temperature is mid -70’s in summer and 30’s in winter. 45” of rain per year.
