What to do at Smith Mountain Lake :

Fishing Smith Mountain Lake is regularly stocked with game fish, earning it a reputation as one of the best all-round fishing spots in the eastern United States. The lake is known for its large number of citation size fish and holds the state record for Striped Bass and Muskie caught in Virginia. Citation-sized bass make the lake one of the hottest trophy fishing waters and the site of many fishing tournaments. Fishing guides can be reserved for ˝ or full day trips. We know the best on the Lake.

Hiking - Smith Mountain Lake State Park has miles of hiking trails, nature walks, and many special events. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 25 minutes away.

Horseback Riding - Trail rides can be arranged at local stables.

Boating - Smith Mountain Lake has 23 Marinas surrounding the lake. Many have boat and jet ski rentals. The Virginia Dare paddle wheeler is 3 miles away.

Shopping - Antiques, boutiques or souvenirs, Smith Mountain Lake has abundant options. Bridgewater, West Lake and Bedford are all 20 to 25 minutes from LoveStone Inn.
